Divorce

Divorce is never an easy choice, but when it is time to move on, BSR Legal Group can provide you with the information and insight you need to make informed decisions about how to navigate this difficult time. Our process begins with a consultation where our skilled attorneys will listen to the specifics of your situation and provide you with various options on how to proceed, based on the breadth of your marital estate and the reasonableness of your spouse.  Most divorces are resolved in one of three ways:

Uncontested Divorce

This is the cheapest and easiest way to get divorced; however, it can only take place when both you and your partner are completely aware of the extent of your marital estate and are in full agreement.  At BSR Legal Group, we will craft a comprehensive Post Nuptial Agreement that includes the disposition of your marital estate, custody and visitation of your children, term and amount of any support, and many other protections that you may not have considered.

Negotiated Divorce

This type of divorce takes place when you hire an attorney and your spouse also hires an attorney.  Using their knowledge and experience, the attorneys negotiate settlement of any issues that you can’t agree upon amongst yourselves.  In the event that you don’t know the extent of your marital estate, your attorney can obtain that information for you.  This option costs a bit more than the uncontested option, but is effective in helping you and your spouse maintain control of the situation while seeking settlement.

Contested Divorce

When you and your spouse simply cannot see eye-to-eye or you don’t trust your spouse to be forthright about the extent of assets in your marital estate, engaging in a contested divorce is the right choice for you. In the event that you need to pursue a contested divorce, you need a seasoned and experienced attorney to help you prepare your case for the best outcome possible. While this is the most expensive option, it is also the most effective if your spouse is not willing to cooperate.

No matter which option you choose, BSR Legal Group has the knowledge and experience to help.
